Are You Certain You're Costing Your Product Or Service Correctly?

If you have been following the BookPals Business Sanity podcast you would remember we interviewed Gordon Kay of Doing Biz.

Gordon has just posted a very interesting discussion point on his blog that is well worth having a read of.

It talks about whether or not you are really costing your product and/or service correctly.

How often do you hear of people in business complaining that they are working all day every day, but still can't seem to make any money.

Well, if you read this article by Gordon you may start to understand why.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

Please, Please, Please Work This Time!!!!!!!

If you have been following the BookPals development and have been reading previous blog posts you will be aware of the problems we have had getting the BookPals Business Sanity podcast feed working correctly in iTunes.

After 4 months (that's right - months!!!) it looks like the problem has finally been fixed!!!

As you would know if you have been listening to our podcast, we provide audio transcriptions of the episodes, so that if you are out walking, running, or driving when you listen to an episode and you want to follow up on any of the information provided, instead of having to listen to the episode again, you can simply download the audio transcription to find the comment, website, or resource that is of interest to you.

Until recently, we have been storing these audio transcriptions in the same online location as the podcasts themselves and it looks like this has been "confusing" our podcast feed - something to do with the feed not liking a combination of MP3 files (the podcasts) and the PDF files (the audio transcriptions) sitting in the same "place" (not sure of the technical aspect of the problem - we left that to the iTunes "techies" who were fantastic in their efforts to get the problem sorted).

We have now moved the audio transcriptions to a different location and our podcasts - that up until now have been taking weeks to be referenced in iTunes - are now showing up on iTunes within 24 hours of upload.

Jump on over to the podcast section of iTunes and subscribe to the BookPals Business Sanity podcast - there have been some wonderful guests interviewed already and we have many more discussions in the pipeline that we are sure will make running your business just that little bit easier.

The BookPals website has undergone a serious "facelift" over the past week or so - say hi to the new look website!!!!

We weren't happy with the colour scheme and the amount of "noise" there - as we have said from the moment BookPals first started, our goal is to make your business life just that little bit easier, so when it comes to finding out what BookPals is all about, less is better.

We hope that you enjoy the new look website and let us know what you think (have you noticed below that you can now comment on each post?).

Are You Looking For Ways To Attract Hundreds - If Not Thousands - Of People To Your Website?

If you are looking for ways for hundreds - if not thousands - of people to find out about your products and/or services, then today's episode of BookPals Business Sanity is a "must listen to" episode, because today, you meet Sean Kaye of RapidActionPodcasting.com.

Sean talks about the power of podcasting and how it allows you to market your business to anyone, anywhere in the world.

He also talks about his Rapid Action Podcasting course, where he teaches you how to create and launch your very own podcast and when you hear how cost effective this course is, I am sure you will agree that this course has to be put on your "must do" list.

Just to give you an idea, the BookPals Business Sanity podcast has now been going for 4 months now and we have had around 4000 visitors to our website to check out the episodes and see what BookPals is all about - that's 1000 visitors to our website a month, or a little over 250 visitors a week coming to our website to find out more - would your business benefit by having 1000 visitors to your website a month?

We hope you enjoy this episode of Bookpals Business Sanity and we hope that the information provided by Sean Kaye of RapidActionPodcasting.com helps drive your business forward.

Ok - Lets See If This Fixes Things!!!

Those of you who have been following the BookPals Business Sanity podcast may have noticed that we have rarely suggested that you go over to iTunes to subscribe to the podcast feed.

The reason for this is because we have been having ongoing problems getting our podcast episodes to display in iTunes - the iTunes team have been fantastic helping us try and sort the problem, but there have been times when it has been over a week after the podcast is released that you can actually see it in the iTunes.

It looks like we have found the problem - we have been hosting our podcast - plus the audio transcriptions - in the same location and it looks like the format of the audio transcriptions may be stopping the new podcast episodes from being "seen" by iTunes.

Some quick "jiggling and juggling' has been done and we hope that this now fixes the problem - if you hover over the title "Podcast" at the top of this page you will see the link to a new page titled "Audio Transcriptions" displays and on this new page you will find links to download audio transcriptions of all our podcast episodes.

All the audio transcriptions have now been removed from our podcast hosting page, so next time you head over there, all you will find are the podcasts themselves - when you want a printed version of an interview, simply head over to our Audio Transcriptions page and click on the episode you want to download.

We know these audio transcriptions will help you because you are often listening to our podcasts while driving, or doing other activities where you don't have the chance to note down things that can help and your business, so the next time this happens, when you have the chance to do so, simply download the audio transcription of the episode you were listening to for the hint and/or tip that will help make your business life just that little bit easier.

We hope you are enjoying the BookPals Business Sanity podcast and remember if you - or someone you know - wants to have a chat about their business success, simply contact us and lets arrange a time to chat.

We hope that you enjoy this episode of BookPals Business Sanity.

How Strong Is Your Vision?

The past few weeks have been most interesting in the BookPals development.

We have been interviewing some fantastic guests on the BookPals Business Sanity podcast and on more than one occasion the question has been asked, "So what is BookPals all about?".

Until this question was asked, I did not realise that this question would be so hard to answer!!!!

Don't get me wrong - we know exactly what BookPals is and how it is going to make your life easier - but when you are asked to explain it to someone you have only just met in less than thirty seconds, this can be quite a challenge.

Fortunately, we have what every business should have who wants to really drive their business forward - a detailed business plan - and within this business plan lies the answer to the question "So what is BookPals all about?" - and that is our Vision!!!!

Whenever this question gets asked the answer is simple, because all that needs to be done is to recite our Vision - BookPals is a community of likeminded people working together to make business compliance easier and more straightforward.

Sure, there will be a fantastic product that you will be able to use to make your business life easier and sure, there will be a number of services at your disposal to help you with your business once Bookpals launches, but at its very core, our Vision is what BookPals is all about - bringing likeminded people together to help each other with their businesses and get compliance completed and reported easier and in a more straightforward manner than anything currently on the market.

Compliance is a fact of life regardless of the kind of business that you run, so why not register now so that this aspect of your business life gets sorted quickly and easily once BookPals launches.

Oh, and by the way, if you have not listened to the Bookpals Business Sanity podcast yet, why not do so now - there are some great interviews there and in the coming weeks we will be introducing you to more people who can help you drive your business to further success.
